## Release truth

- Downloader product page: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/downloader/

- v0.7.0 is the current stable release with Home, Inspect, Network, Extensions, Files and Settings.
- Nightly is the opt-in rolling preview built from main/master, not a stable promotion. Read its release page for the source in the current archive: https://github.com/shreyam1008/ProtoPeek/releases/tag/v0.0.0-nightly. Source guides can describe changes that have not reached a published archive.
- v0.7.0 and compatible Nightly builds include pp update and protopeek update for verified direct installs on Windows, macOS and Linux. Settings > Updates provides manual checks, confirmation, cancellation and restart guidance. Managed installs show their package-manager commands. Older binaries, including v0.6.1, need one installer upgrade first. Stable and package-manager promotion remain separate.
- Legacy Edge (v0.0.0-edge) is an older manual prerelease retained with dated browser evidence. It is not the rolling preview channel; stable installers do not select it. Historical acceptance: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/workspace-ui/.
- Stable Inspect provides gRPC, HTTP saved requests, WebSocket/SSE, Cap’n Proto bootstrap RPC and bounded capability plans and explicit website/TLS/header/path evidence. Stable Network includes bounded diagnostics, Linux/Windows/macOS paths, TCP port scans, private discovery, Nmap input, packet metadata with opt-in TCP payload evidence, snapshots and device evidence. See each guide for platform and local-tool requirements.
- Stable Cloudflare Tunnel provides host/config inspection and guarded canonical service operations. Reviewed config writes and Windows/Linux publishing have separate native/provider prerequisites; account administration remains user-owned.
- Windows x64 includes pinned aria2 1.37.0, extracted on demand after configured and PATH engines. Other platforms require installed aria2. Release archives include notices and a separate source companion.
- The verified resolvers install latest stable from checksum-pinned archives. Homebrew and Scoop manifests identify their package versions and supply aria2 as a dependency.
- Drafts, saved HTTP recipes, appearance and path snapshots use browser-origin storage. Host download settings, queue and bounded history use local files. Closing the browser leaves Downloader jobs running while the server stays open; server restart restores recoverable jobs for explicit resume.
- Nmap, dumpcap, Tailscale and cloudflared require their respective installed tools. Cap’n Proto source compilation uses the optional capnp compiler; compiled schemas work without it.
- Hop country/ASN attribution is optional provider evidence, not proof of a datacenter or return path. Port hints are not verified protocols. Website checks never produce a security score.
- GoBarryGo files and history remain independent; its public redirect and retirement are not complete.

## Published v0.7.0 capabilities

v0.7.0 uses Home, Inspect, Network, Extensions, Files and Settings. Home prepares unsent HTTP or explicit TLS/plaintext gRPC drafts; discovery is a separate action. Published software does not establish native-client, provider-account or independently promoted package acceptance.

- Media and webpages: v0.7.0 adds native direct files, HTML media discovery and original HTML snapshots, plus explicit optional site engines with verified installation. Media remains inside the lazy Files workflow. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/media-downloads/
- Local transfer: v0.7.0 adds direct TLS 1.3 transfers between ProtoPeek devices with receiver approval, cancellation and SHA-256 receipts. Existing LAN/VPN routes carry traffic; VPN provisioning and relays are not included. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/local-transfer/
- HTTP recipes: v0.7.0 adds environment templates, session-only secrets, request-library import and reviewed cURL import. Loading prepares an unsent editor. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/http-workbench/
- gRPC stream evidence: v0.7.0 renders incremental native messages, headers and completion evidence. Local cancellation retains messages without inventing final server status. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/grpc-workbench/
- Cap’n Proto plans: v0.7.0 implements generic bindings and bounded typed returned-capability call plans. Review and Run are separate actions. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/capnp-workbench/
- Network diagnostics: v0.7.0 implements finite DNS/resolver, TCP/TLS, proxy, protocol and offline subnet checks with explicit Run/Cancel controls. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/network-diagnostics/
- Packet payload evidence: v0.7.0 adds default-off bounded TCP payload reconstruction with directional segments, gaps and conflicting overlaps, plus conservative snapshot comparison and Nmap-to-map previews. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/network-workbench/
- macOS native evidence: v0.7.0 implements native unprivileged ICMP and aggregate interface counters with native CI fixtures. Real runtime/intermediate-hop acceptance is separate; socket/process ownership remains unavailable. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/this-pc/
- Private access: v0.7.0 adds a separate Headscale HTTPS login-server flow and native NetBird evidence/actions. Installed tools, accounts, permissions and real-provider acceptance remain explicit prerequisites. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/extensions/
- Reviewed publishing: v0.7.0 implements guarded canonical-user-config writes and owned temporary publishing on Windows/Linux. Linux requires a direct native vendor Go command. Foreground publishing remains unavailable on macOS; provider/account and cleanup acceptance stay separate. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/cloudflare-tunnels/
- Optional extension library: v0.7.0 provides 20 lazy optional entries with explicit integration levels and per-entry host checks. Six are native workbenches; fourteen are setup guides or links. Opening the library installs, downloads and executes nothing. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/extensions/

Extensions contains 20 optional entries: six Native workbenches, seven Command guides, four MCP setup guides, two Endpoint guides and one ChatGPT web External link. Opening the catalog does not load every detail pack, inspect tools, download vendors/models or sign in. Check this host is explicit for one selected detectable entry; it uses process PATH and reviewed fixed paths without executing the tool. aria2 may read and verify an existing cached bundle. Pins and manual setup-platform choices retain only catalog and platform IDs in this browser, without credentials or results. ChatGPT web has no direct ProtoPeek stdio connector or hosted relay; local Codex setup is separate. Guide: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/extensions/.

Native macOS socket/process ownership and foreground publishing remain unavailable. Integrated sign-in/elevation and provider administration remain user-owned. Local AI setup and activity: https://protopeek.shreyam1008.com.np/ai-agents/.
